At the end of last term, class 4JM were invited to support our community by visiting The Aldbury, a local Dementia Care Home. The students met the residents and were invited to sing Christmas Carols (they managed to make it through all twelve days of Christmas!) and stay for a drink, mince pie and a chat.
They were then very surprised when the residents handed each student a small gift to say thank you – so 4JM’s first job at the start of the Spring term was to write thank you letters.
The students then went to The Aldbury again to hand deliver their letters and give thanks in person. While there the students also had time talk to and share with the residents, with a few meeting old ‘friends’. Class 4JM are already looking forward to their next visit!
