Red Nose Day 2011 was a huge success all around school, with lots of staff and children ‘doing something funny for money’. Together we managed to raise over £300 for people less fortunate than ourselves in Britain and Africa.
Nearly everyone dressed up in red, donated their 50p and wore their choice of red nose. Lots of the staff decided to dress up as ‘Where’s Wally’ and we’re still trying to decide which one actually is Wally.
The day began with a good work assembly, punctuated by jokes from the giggle box competition – which was won by Jamie in Lilliput Class. His winning joke was… What do you call a blind dinosaur? A do-you-think-he-saw-us. Jamie wins two tickets for entry into Marwell Safari Park.
During the day 4GS took orders and then baked Red Nose cakes, several of the pupils completed sponsored silences and Mrs Davis sold fantastic cup cakes – which I can personally recommend.
All in all a great day was had by all and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone whose contributed to our total amount of over £300.
