P.E. Funding Grant
Primary Sports Funding for Winchelsea School
The Government is currently providing funding of £150 million per annum to provide new and substantial primary school sport funding. The funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. Each school will receive £8,000 plus an extra £5 per pupil each year for the next two years.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision for PE and sport. We will be held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support student progress and participation in PE and school sport. We are required to publish on-line information about how we have used the additional funding, including details about our sporting provision alongside curriculum details. This will ensure that parents/carers and others are made fully aware of the PE and sporting provision at Winchelsea School.
Winchelsea School provide a broad and balanced curriculum within Physical Education where every pupil is able to swim at least once per week, over 18 weeks of the academic year.
Furthermore, the school continues to support the local organising committee for the school games and plays a role in local sport development.
